As of 2/26/14 at 10 pm:
A rock slide south of Big Sur at Post Mile 42 near the Coast Gallery has closed Highway 1 overnight. Our crews will assess the damage and begin cleanup at daybreak so we’ll update everyone after that, thx

TAMC CONE ZONE REPORT
ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR February 16 –
February 23

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, February 16, through Sunday, February 23, 2014 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1 – Multiple Locations: Feb. 17 – Feb 21
Daytime drainage, pavement, and tree work at multiple locations along Highway 1 between from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Locations are:
Lime Creek Bridge to Garrapata Creek Bridge: Drainage work.
Hurricane Point to Garrapata Ridge Road: Crack and Seal work.
Peter Pan Road: One-day tree work on Wednesday February 19.
Tioga Avenue to Sand Dunes Drive: one-day pavement repair on Tuesday February 18.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – Gonzales and Soledad: Feb. 18 – Feb. 21
Daytime survey, median barrier, and drainage work on Highway 101 from La Gloria Road to Arroyo Seco Road will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – Chualar: Feb. 19 – 21
Daytime drainage work on northbound Highway 101 from Esperanza Road to Somavia Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Prunedale Improvement Project: Feb. 18 – Feb. 21
Nighttime work will result in alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Vierra Canyon Road and Crazy Horse Canyon Road from 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

San Juan Road Interchange: Feb. 18 – Feb. 21
Night work on Highway 101 will cause alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road and Rocks / Cannon Road from 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 198: Feb. 19 – 21
Daytime shoulder work on Highway 198 at Griffin Road between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

EMERGENCY STORM REPAIR TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE THE NORTHBOUND 101 RIGHT SHOULDER AT CRAZY HORSE CANYON ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7

MONTEREY COUNTY – Caltrans will temporarily close the right shoulder of northbound Highway 101 at Crazy Horse Canyon between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7. The Crazy Horse Canyon Interchange on-ramps and off-ramps will remain open during the shoulder closure.

The emergency closure is needed to fix the shoulder area that has washed out from the recent storms.

The closure and work are weather-dependent.

NOTE: MOTORISTS RETURNING EARLY FROM THE PEBBLE BEACH GOLF TOURNAMENT FRIDAY AFTERNOON (FEB. 7) SHOULD GIVE THEMSELVES EXTRA TIME TRAVELLING THROUGH THIS AREA ON HWY. 101.
