HIGHWAY 1/ROCKY CREEK VIADUCT PROJECT CONTINUES WITH DAYTIME ROADWORK AND OVERNIGHT CLOSURES
 

Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. 
 
Overnight/night closures
 next week are as follows: 
·       Sunday, March 3 through Wednesday, March 6—9 pm to 11 pm with up to 10-minute holds;
·       Sunday, March 3 through Wednesday, March 6—11 pm to 7 am with up to 30-minute holds;
 
Work being done is excavating between bridge columns to install bridge deck beams.
 
·       Thursday, March 7 (opening Friday at 7 am)—10 pm to 7 am –hard closure
 
Work being done is pouring concrete on two bridge column caps
 
Highway 1 at Rocky Creek has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7. Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork. Full overnight closures will be scheduled five nights a week Sundays through Thursdays, unless otherwise indicated. No overnight closures will occur on Friday/ Saturday nights.
 
The project to construct a permanent viaduct about 15 miles south of Carmel near the Rocky Creek Bridge began on Sept. 4. Completion is scheduled by Labor Day, weather permitting. Daily roadwork schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and other factors so stay tuned for regular updates.
 
The contractor for this $11 million viaduct project is Golden State Bridge of Martinez, CA.
 
In order to minimize traffic impact as part of the project, there will be advance notification for motorists, residents and businesses via a traffic hotline, electronic message signs and email roadwork updates.
   

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.

MONTEREY COUNTY – Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, Feb.25 through Friday, March 1. Overnight closures continue from 9pm to 7am Sunday, Feb. 24 and Monday, Feb. 25 and from 11pm to 7 am Tuesday, Feb. 26 through Thursday, Feb. 28 (opening Friday at 7am).

Construction continues with drilling to place falsework on bridge columns.

Highway 1 at Rocky Creek has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7. Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork. Full overnight closures will be scheduled five nights a week Sundays through Thursdays, unless otherwise indicated. The remaining schedule after March 1 is being finalized. No overnight closures will occur on Friday/ Saturday nights.

The project to construct a permanent viaduct about 15 miles south of Carmel near the Rocky Creek Bridge began on Sept. 4. Completion is scheduled by Labor Day, weather permitting. Daily roadwork schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and other factors so stay tuned for regular updates.

The contractor for this $11 million viaduct project is Golden State Bridge of Martinez, CA.

In order to minimize traffic impact as part of the project, there will be advance notification for motorists, residents and businesses via a traffic hotline, electronic message signs and email roadwork updates.
