HIGHWAY 1 OVERNIGHT CLOSURE NORTH OF RAGGED POINT TO RESUME

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY – All construction on a project to install several horizontal drains on Highway 1 one mile north of Ragged Point has been temporarily suspended. Overnight construction from 8 pm until 5 am will resume on Monday, January 4 and continue for four nights until Friday morning January 8, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use Highway 46, 101 or 68 as a detour.

In addition to the overnight closure, one-way daytime traffic control with flaggers will resume from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and until 2 pm on Fridays. There will be no construction between 2:00 pm on Fridays and 8:00 pm on Sundays. Authorized emergency vehicles will have access to Highway 1 at all times during this project. Electronic message signs will be provided to advise motorists, who can expect delays not to exceed 20 minutes.

The contractor for this $235,000 project is Arthurs Contracting Inc. of Atascadero, California. This project is expected to be completed by February, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists that “we’re here to get you there.”

All businesses along the highway corridor remain open.
